About Us

SOMALI WOMEN VETERINARY ASSOCIATION

Somali Veterinary Women Association (SWVA) was established in 2022 in Mogadishu, Somalia, to address the significant challenges faced by animals in the agro-pastoral economy during the collapse of the Central Government and civil war. Comprising a dedicated group of young lady scholars, including veterinary professionals, social workers, teachers, and farmers, SOVWA focuses on improving feeding programs, health care, training, and public awareness in the field of veterinary and animal husbandry.

Mission

The mission of SOVWA is to provide veterinary care, enhance pastoralists’ income, and contribute to national development by focusing on animal health improvement, pastoralists’ education, and environmental protection.

Vission

SOVWA envisions the development of adequate animal health services, the eradication of common diseases, and the enhancement of pasture productivity through the introduction of improved fodder seeds and the utilization of wasteland.
